The Catana is a rear-drag spinning reel designed for general freshwater use. Ideal for young, new and inexperienced anglers it offers excellent value for money combined with Shimano\u2019s proven reliability. If you are looking for a freshwater spinning reel at a very affordable price, the Catana is a great starting point. Ideal for a wide range of fishing, from lightweight and medium sized lures, to match and feeder fishing, the understated appearance looks fantastic and the performance is remarkable for a reel of this price. The easy to adjust rear drag design makes the Catana suitable for young and inexperienced anglers. Featuring 2 shielded stainless steel ball bearings and a roller bearing, the Catana isn\u2019t short of quality features and engineering. Featuring a Cold Forged Aluminium Spool with AR-C line management, that\u2019s suitable for both mono and braid, plus Varispeed line lay which prevents fine mono and braid bedding in when under pressure, the Catana is very easy to use. The body is made from Shimano\u2019s XT-7 composite, which is lightweight and strong enough to cope with unexpected shocks and mishandling.
